This week educators from our elementary and secondary schools attended the Title III Symposium in San Antonio, where they learned strategies to assist our Emergent Bilingual students. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Tiffany Hauser, Southeast Realtors, Moore Chiropractic, PLLC, and R&R Day Spa for hosting a backpack drive to help our Floresville ISD students!🎒 They were able to provide 400 backpacks stuffed with some starting essential school supplies that will be distributed to FISD families in need. Thank you to all those who donated and to our FISD Transportation Department for helping to transport all the donations to our Social Work Office. #FloresvilleFamily

Big congratulations! FSE Behavior Intervention Specialist Deborah Cone and Alternative Center Teacher Amy Zaiontz recently renewed their Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Instructor certification, allowing them to share their knowledge on behavior prevention and intervention with their colleagues to assist our students and families best. #FISDGreatStaff

South and North elementary schools' principals presented at the TCEA Elementary Technology Conference in Galveston on June 13. Heather Brooks and Monica Schlueter showcased FISD's implementation of blended learning in their presentation, "Bullseye! Does Your Blended Learning Model Hit the Rigor Target?" Mrs. Brooks and Dr. Schlueter shared how blended learning classrooms utilized personalized learning pathways that led to grade-level mastery and beyond.

Thank you to the Girl Scouts Troop 559 for joining us at the June regular meeting of the FISD Board of Trustees! In order to earn their Citizens Badge, the girl scouts witness and participate in civil engagement activities that affect them and their community. We are happy to announce Mrs. Cassi Korzekwa as our Secondary Teacher of the YEar and Mrs. Genevieve Rodriguez as our Elementary Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Korzekwa is a CTE teacher at FHS. Mrs. Rodriguez is a 2nd-grade teacher at FNE. #FISDGreatStaff Congratulations!

Look who came to Floresville Middle School on the last day of school to wish our students a great summer! None other than former San Antonio Spurs player Matt Bonner! 🏀 The "Red Rocket" talked to the students about how important education and hard work are in order to achieve success. The students had a blast and many even had the chance to take pictures with or get an autograph from the NBA star. Thank you, Mr. Bonner, for a moment our students will remember forever!

Last signing of the 2022-2023 school year! Congratulations to Floresville High School senior Gabby Perez! She signed with New Mexico Junior College to play golf for the Thunderbirds! We are so proud of Gabby, her academic success, and all of her accomplishments beyond the classroom! #FISDGreatKids
