Floresville ISD announced the Teacher and Students of the Month for September.

Colton Terry, 5th-grade student at Floresville South Elementary, was selected as one of two Students of the Month. He is described by his teachers as hard working, dedicated, and focused.

Colton says his favorite teacher is Mrs. Fowler, because she is nice, kind and always lets them read, which he loves to do. He dreams of becoming a scientist and is very active outside of the classroom, playing in the Wildcat Football team, practicing Jiu-Jitsu, and swimming. Colton has also participated in UIL events in the past.

Areli Gonzalez Ramirez, also a 5th-grade student at FSE, is the second Student of the Month. She is creative, kind, dedicated, a good listener, and likes to help other students. Her favorite subject is Art and would love to be an artist, study animals, or become a doctor one day.

Outside of school, Areli is a member of the Sacred Heart choir and participates in Art Club. She also loves spending time with her dog, her sister, and her parents.

Mrs. Melissa Adams has dedicated 20 years of her life to teaching and inspiring students, and has been selected as the Teacher of the Month.

Throughout her career, she has taught 3rd grade math and science, 5th grade math and science, served as a Math MTSS teacher, and currently supports the ESL dual-language counterpart for 4th and 5th grade math and science.

Mrs. Adams is described as a joy to work with, a bright light on campus, a cheerful heart, warm, dedicated, and positive. She always puts the needs of her students first and steps in to fill the shoes that need to be filled.
