FISD 2025 Bond

The Floresville ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved placing a $95 million bond program on the May 3, 2025 election ballot. The bond package addresses safety, security and overcrowding, and includes a new intermediate campus, critical district-wide improvements and enhanced learning environments. A Floresville ISD bond election has not been on the ballot since May of 2007.

The development of the $95 million bond referendum follows an extensive process that began in the fall of 2022 with the long-range planning committee, which was composed of students, staff, parents, and community members who analyzed district facilities and resources to ensure our schools are prepared for the future. A Master Facility Plan was then approved by our trustees in April of 2024, and a subsequent Facility Task Force evaluated the needs across the district, identified priorities and developed fiscally responsible recommendations. Major components of the bond include:

  • District-Wide Safety, Security, Technology & Maintenance – Improvements at all campuses, including but not limited to fencing, guard stations, entryways, enclosed vestibules, security cameras, fire alarms, HVAC, roofing, communications systems, and critical infrastructure.

  • New Intermediate Campus – New campus to house students in grades 5th and 6th, alleviating overcrowding at the elementary schools and middle school, with the opportunity for a future expansion to a middle school.

  • CTE Additions at High School & Middle School, Middle School Weight Room Additions – Additions and renovations for CTE and weight rooms, enhancing learning environments.

The proposed $95 million bond program can be funded with an estimated increase of $0.22992 to the current Interest & Sinking (I&S) tax rate. The district’s total tax rate currently stands at $0.899481 per $100 of appraised value.

As the bond election nears, there will be many opportunities for Floresville ISD community members to learn more about the bond program. District administrators are available to answer questions and share additional details about the proposed bond projects.
